3 Nights / 4 Days Wild Discovery Package Itinerary
Day 1 : ARRIVAL TO BEIRUT
Meet & assist at the airport by our representative. Transfer to the hotel. Check in. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : BEIRUT – BAALBECK – BEIRUT (VISIT DOWNTOWN & PIGEON ROCK)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Beqaa Valley. Visit Baalbeck, Lebanon’s greatest Roman treasure, can be counted among the wonders of the ancient world. The largest and most noble Roman temples ever built, they are also among the best preserved. Towering high above the Beqaa plain, their monumental proportions proclaimed the power and wealth of Imperial Rome. The gods worshipped here, the Triad of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury, were grafted onto the indigenous deities of Hadad, Atargatis and a young male god of fertility. Lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, return to Beirut. Orientation tour of the capital Beirut, home of the first law school in the world, dating back to the Phoenician Era. Have a photo stop at Pigeon Rock and take the Corniche to reach the Downtown. The trendy Solidere area of downtown Beirut has been beautifully restored. Solidere is also home to several Roman ruins sites that have been uncovered and preserved, several notable mosques and churches, and the National Parliament Building. The ruins of the extensive Roman Bath complex are located just west of the Solidere (Beirut Central District) region, below the Grand Serail. Have a walk around “La Place de l’Etoile” and Clock Tower.
Return to the hotel in Beirut. Overnight.
Day 3 : BEIRUT – SIDON – BEITEDDINE – DEIR EL QAMAR – BEIRUT
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the capital of the South to visit Sidon (Saida), said to mean “fishing”. Sidon was the third great Phoenician city-state, rivaling Byblos and Tyre as a naval power. The town was conquered by the Crusaders after a famous siege lasting 47 days, and then retaken by Saladin 70 years later.
The city’s northern harbor is graced by Castle of the Sea, erected in the early 13th Century by the crusading Knights of St. John of the Hospital of Jerusalem on an islet at the mouth of the harbor. In the old town more recent buildings worth a visit are Khan as-Sabun, Khan el-Franj and the Great Mosque above the Egyptian Harbor which still retains the 13th Century walls of the fortress Church of the Hospitallers.
Proceed to the Chouf Region. Lunch in Beiteddine. In the afternoon, visit the Beiteddine Palace (meaning “house of faith”). Beiteddine is a palace built at the beginning of the 19th century, by Emir Bechir Chehab II, on a rocky spur dominating a steep, precipitous valley. A perfect example of classic Lebanese architecture of the time, it has decorated ceilings, colorful marble mosaic floors, luxurious Turkish Baths and harem suites, in a setting of beautifully groomed gardens, a guest house in which the French Poet “Lamartine” once dwelt, water jets and colonnades. The palace remained the emir’s residence until his forced exile in 1840, when the Ottomans used it as the government residence. It was declared a historic monument in 1934, and then began a restoration process. Since 1943, it has been the summer home of the president. A folkloric museum occupies one wing and in the palace’s renovated stables is an exquisite display of mosaics from a ruined Byzantine church and other structures of the same period. On the way back, stop at Deir el Qamar, famous for its palaces which display the ancient Lebanese style in architecture. Return to Beirut.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : BEIRUT – BYBLOS – BEIRUT (DEPARTURE)
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. Departure to visit Byblos, the oldest continuously inhabited town built upon multiple layers of ruins. Modern scholars believe the site of Byblos dates back at least 7,000 years (5,000-4,000 BC). The city’s current name is taken from the Greek word for “papyrus” (paper). Byblos was not only a major trading center and producer of papyrus, but is also famous for being the city where Phoenician scholars created the world’s first alphabet. The small, harbor was once a thriving commercial center, where Lebanon’s cedar wood was shipped throughout the region in ancient times.
Byblos has extensive archaeological ruins which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ruins range from Stone Age huts to a Roman theater to a Persian fortress and an impressive Crusader castle & the Roman amphitheater. Visit St John the Baptist church and explore the old souqs (markets) & the medieval ramparts.
Transfer to the airport for departure.

Well-Known Ancient Tourist Attractions In The Republic Of Lebanon
Well-Known Ancient Tourist Attractions In The Republic Of Lebanon
Article by Ben Pate
If history is something you are passionate about, consider visiting the country of Lebanon. Lebanon’s history is long and full of different phases, occupations, and periods of tumult, making it the interesting country that it is today. Lebanon is actually home to some of the oldest populated cities in the entire world: Byblos, Beirut, and Sidon. However, there is more to Lebanon than just history. Lebanon is actually a world-class party destination, with celebrities making their way to the biggest cities to party, and it was declared the number one tourist destination in 2009. However, if you’re thinking of traveling, either for the history or the parties, remember that you will need an new passport id card. Now you are able to go online in order to apply for passports, and it’s so much easier than having to deal with the traditional passport process. It’s only a few easy steps: go online, pick which sort of service you need, choose a date for it to be delivered, and the process is done. You can even get 24 hour American passports, perfect for if you want to make a quick getaway for a week.Lebanon is located along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and shares a long border with Syria. Because of this location, much of its history is Roman. There are seemingly countless Roman ruins around the country, and most of them are surprisingly easy to get to. One of the most famous Roman sites in the world, and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Baalbek. This is an ancient city, featuring some of the biggest and best preserved Roman temples in the world. Considered a wonder of the ancient world, Baalbek is a place full of testaments to Roman history. There are many temples, including the Temple of Jupiter and the Temple of Bacchus, and each retaining much of their original form and decoration. These huge temples rose around 70 feet high. The Qadisha Valley and the nearby Cedars of God form yet another World Heritage Site. Qadisha translates into “holy,” as this valley features some of the most ancient Christian monasteries in the world. The Cedars are the remnants of an ancient forest, full of the oldest trees in the world, some of which are still living at 3000 years old. The wood from these trees were one of the most highly valued building materials in ancient times, used by Solomon to construct the First Temple of Jerusalem, as well as by Egyptians to build boats. There are many, many caves located in this valley which were used in ancient times as shelters for those fleeing persecution. Recently, mummies of ancient villagers dating back to 1283 AD were found.Tyre, founded in 2750 BC, is an ancient city where people still live today. This particular spot is famous in Classical Roman Mythology as the birthplace of Dido and Europa, two famous characters in the mythology. Al Mina is another archaeological site to visit. Much of the original Roman architecture is still standing, and it’s also located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.Lebanon’s nightlife scene should not be underestimated. Especially in places like Greater Beirut, the parties start late in the night and don’t end until the sun rises. Then, the parties switch to the miles of beaches that Lebanon has, which are always full of people. Some parties take place on rooftop clubs and bars, overlooking the busy city.
